The Film Festival

A couple of months ago I was picked for a panel of jury members in the cine magic film festival.
I got to watch movies and write reviews about them. Then together all of the jury members decided which was the best of them all . We picked a winner, a movie called Ella.

After that whoever wanted to present the award put their name into a hat and if you were picked out you presented the award. Three of us got picked out. I was picked. On the night of the award myself and the other people presenting got to meet Mary McAleese. The next day I was in the Evening Herald and the Metro. I'm going to enter a competition to become a jury member next year.

SEMI FINAL PHOTOSTORY - LARRIERS .v. JAMEBO
MATCH REPORTS
On Thursday the 24th of September we had a match for the school in Fairview. We were playing against Marlborough Street. We left the school at quarter past two with 6th class and Miss Harte. When we got out to Fairview we went over to the tree to put on our boots. Then we went out to warm up. The ref called the captains over. Throw in was at half two. The ref threw the ball in and we won it. Hayden ran with it and kicked it over the bar.
We had one point then Marlborough Street got a point. Then we hammered them. In the second half I was playing back with Shane, Hayden and Killo. We were sitting down at the edge of the box because the ball wasn’t coming up onto our half. Sean was sitting in the goal bored. Then the ref blew the whistle and it was over. The ref wouldn’t tell us the score because we lashed them out of it! Miss Harte told us the result and we were all delighted.

On Thursday we went out to Fairview for the gaelic match against Gaelscoil Barra. Mr Brennan and Ms Harte brought some people out of 5th class and some boys out of 6th. When we got out there we began to warm up but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time.
When the match started I played full back and luckily we got an early point. When we got another point the balls were flying in. Before half time the other team made a change in the half forward line. He was a deadly player. As soon as he got on he scored a great point. After they scored a few points a few of our heads went down and we lost confidence. It was half time when Ms. Harte made a few subs. It gave us a bit of confidence and helped us play better. We got into position and the second half started. After the throw in Hayden won the ball. He ran the length of the pitch and passed it to Shayo. Shayo dodged the defenders on the other team and shot the ball into the top corner with passion. The ref blew the whistle and Larriers walked off with a smile. If we win four more games we will play in Croker!

Soccer

We are City Division 3 defending champions. Having won four in a row City Division 4 titles (2003-2006) we were promoted to Div.3 in 2007. We struggled against these bigger schools and were knocked out in the play offs in 2007, but we came back last year to win the final on penos after extra time! We last won the Pegasus Cup in 2005. We did nothing in 2006, but made the semis in 2007 and the quarters last year. We're hoping for a good run again this year.
